Additional Information Regarding Public Works
SanTrans Heavy Wrecker
There have been several issues with the use of the SanTrans Wrecker in the past, so this is here to clarify any confusion that there might be. The usage of the SanTrans Heavy Wrecker is heavily restricted due to the nature of how it is intended to be used. Using the SanTrans heavy wrecker for anything not outlined in this section of the SOP could result in either in-character punishment or out-of-character staff action.
The following are possible uses:
Responding to major incidents on the interstates/highways such as traffic collisions when requested by law enforcement on the scene.
Towing away a vehicle/trailer from the aforementioned traffic collision to the lot.
The fifth wheel attachment on the SanTrans Heavy Wrecker is to be used to tow trailers being recovered from an incident, it should not be used to pull a trailer to put vehicles on, use a flatbed for towing cars.
The SanTrans Heavy Wrecker is not to be used on construction scenes for traffic control or any other reason due to the intended purpose of the vehicle being used to respond to major incidents on the freeways when requested by Law Enforcement who are on the scene.
Commercial Vehicle Weigh Stations
Santrans is responsible for the placement of Commercial Weigh Stations within the state of San Andreas. These weigh stations are in direct affiliation with the San Andreas Highway Patrol’s commercial enforcement division. SanTrans can perform routine truck inspections, disqualify a commercial motor vehicle from a road with proper reasoning and perform motor vehicle inspections… However, SanTrans does not reserve the right to issue traffic citations or violations. This must be directed to the San Andreas Highway Patrol.
